Welcome to Asramom

We are an NGO based in Manipal Karnataka. We work exclusively with government institutions in Udupi District, in the fields of education and healthcare.

Currently we are engaged with eight schools and three medical centres. The focus is primarily on infrastructure, and we build classrooms and toilets for the schools. We also provide furniture, computers, and projectors. With a focus on the environment we have facilitated a switch to solar power for some of the institutions, and have plans to provide rainwater harvesting facilities where possible.

For the medical centres, we have built treatment rooms, and provided water coolers and refrigerators. We have also provided washing machines for washing soiled linen. We periodically acquire generic drugs from Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadi Kendras and provide medicines to the hospitals. For one of the hospitals, which has a blood testing facility, we provide chemicals and reagents.

Dr. Sunil K. PARAMESWARAN

Sunil K. Parameswaran is the Director & CEO of Tarheel Consultancy Services, Manipal, India, a corporate training and management consultancy firm set up by him in 2004. Sunil is a Visiting Faculty at some of the leading business schools in India, where he anchors courses in the area of Finance. For the past 20 years Sunil has been active as a corporate trainer and management consultant. He has delivered training programs on Global Securities Markets and Global Banking to some of the multinational IT firms located in India. Sunil also has over 30 years of teaching experience and has taught at leading business schools in the U.S. (University of Iowa), Singapore (National University of Singapore), Australia (La Trobe University), and India.
Sunil obtained his Ph.D in Finance from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in North Carolina U.S.A., in 1991. He obtained his M.B.A from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in 1986, and holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi (1984).
A prolific writer, he has published several books, with John Wiley in Singapore and DeG Press in the US.
Sunil is working on a childhood dream post-retirement, and is focused on building infrastructure for government schools and hospitals.
